The Opportunity:

Uphold is looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity where you’ll get to focus on building and improving Topper, our crypto on and off-ramp. You will be designing and building with three core principles in mind: maintainability, performance, and security.

What you'll be doing primarily:

• Develop and maintain the frontend of Topper, ensuring it is user-friendly, secure, and
  accessible across multiple devices and platforms.
  
• Implement new features and optimize existing functionality, based on product
  requirements and user feedback.
  
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and backend services
  seamlessly into the frontend, ensuring efficient and reliable data exchange.
  
• Actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including planning,
  design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance, working alongside
  cross-functional teams.
  
• Write clean, maintainable, scalable and high quality code that adheres to best practices
  and industry standards, with a focus on performance and security.

Required qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of frontend technologies and frameworks like React, Next, Redux (or
  similar), GraphQL, PostCSS, Styled Components, and RESTful web services.
  
• Good understanding of the web platform, including DOM, CORS, browser data storage,
  script loading, request/response headers and others.
  
• Knowledge of multiple ECMAScript standards and modern JavaScript best practices.
  
• Proficiency in modern CSS, including Flexbox and/or CSS Grid.
  
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or similar.
  
• Knowledge of revision control systems.
  
• Basic knowledge of standard development pipelines, including build and other
  automation tools.
  
• Good communication skills and a team player with the ability to work in cross-functional
  teams, and with a great attitude.
  
• Strong focus on project execution and delivery.
  
• Fluent written and oral English skills.
  

Bonus if you have:

• Experience in developing multi-language applications.
  
• Fluency in cryptocurrencies or other digital assets as they are core to our business.
  
• Experience in developing widgets, such as web applications embedded in multiple
  environments like iframes, webviews, and third-party platforms.
  
• Open source project contributions of any kind, such as tools developed to solve specific
  problems you’ve had or fixing issues on existing projects.
