KindGeek is looking for a detail-oriented engineer who takes real pride in the quality of the interfaces they build. Your mission will be to deliver polished, high-performance user experiences across web and mobile for a regulated UK fintech platform that manages hundreds of millions in assets. Depending on the project phase, your focus may shift between a Next.js web platform rebuild and React Native mobile development — so versatility and a genuine care for both surfaces matter.
RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing new customer-facing UI on a Next.js web platform, translating Figma designs into pixel-precise, production-ready interfaces;
- Developing and maintaining React Native features for iOS and Android as needed, including periods where mobile is the primary focus;
- Building and maintaining reusable, well-typed UI components in TypeScript, contributing to a consistent design system across web and mobile;
- Integrating frontend interfaces with REST backend APIs, handling data flows, validation logic, and error states cleanly;
- Working in parallel with a legacy platform — maintaining existing functionality while delivering the new web experience;
- Contributing to code reviews and raising the bar for code quality across the engineering team;
- Debugging issues across web and mobile environments and proactively improving platform reliability.
We're looking for a Frontend Engineer who has:
- 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience;
- Strong command of React and TypeScript, writing clean and maintainable code;
- Solid experience with Next.js, including understanding of SSR, SSG, and client-side rendering trade-offs;
- Hands-on experience with React Native for iOS and Android development;
- Solid understanding of design systems and UI component architecture;
- Experience integrating with REST APIs in production applications, including auth flows, cookies, and security considerations;
- A sharp eye for UI detail and a genuine care for user experience quality;
- Experience working on legacy codebases — maintaining existing systems while simultaneously delivering a new platform;
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a small, high-autonomy team;
- Comfort operating with vague requirements — ability to ask the right questions, find answers in documentation or code, and move forward.
Will be a plus:
- Experience working in fintech, lending, or compliance-heavy environments;
- Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) and CI/CD pipelines;
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
