Location: Northern based priority – can commute to either Newcastle or Manchester site once per week

We are seeking a skilled Front-End Developer who can design, build, and improve user-focused software solutions. As a Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for creating accessible, efficient, and secure interfaces that enhance user experience. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that front-end components integrate seamlessly with the overall system and follow best practices in coding and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain responsive, secure, and accessible front-end code that is clean and reusable.

Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to ensure a cohesive user experience.

Use a test-driven development approach, ensuring front-end components are thoroughly tested.

Support production environments, troubleshooting and optimizing front-end performance as needed.

Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices in front-end development.

Adhere to established Engineering guidelines and contribute to front-end development standards.

Requirements:

Proficiency in JavaScript, with experience in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).

Knowledge of CSS frameworks and pre-processors (e.g., SCSS, SASS, or LESS) for creating visually appealing, responsive layouts.

Experience with GitLab for version control, Docker for containerization, and Maven or similar build tools.

Familiarity with functional testing tools such as Mocha, Postman, and WebDriver.

Understanding of accessibility testing tools like aXe-Core and performance/security testing with OWASP ZAP, JMeter, and SonarQube.

Strong knowledge of front-end performance optimization and accessibility best practices.

Experience in designing user-centric interfaces that are both functional and visually engaging.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
