The Role
Project Overview:
We are seeking native Japanese speakers currently residing in Japan to join a cutting-edge AI localization project. Your role will involve evaluating translated video titles and subtitles from a user perspective to help improve the performance of real-time translation models. Your insights will directly contribute to optimizing machine translation technology and expanding high-quality evaluation datasets.
This project is an excellent opportunity for linguists, translators, or language professionals looking to participate in the future of AI-driven language tools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and evaluate machine-translated video content for naturalness, accuracy, and relevance.
* Provide feedback that supports the refinement of translation models.
* Collaborate with our team to improve the real-time translation experience.
Requirements:
* Native speaker of Japanese and currently living in Japan
* Proficient in English (all training and materials are in English)
* Bachelor’s degree or higher
* Translation experience preferred
* Prior experience with Appen projects is a plus
* Availability between 9 AM – 6 PM (local time)
* Reliable internet connection and device for remote work
* Completion of a brief onboarding survey is required before invitation to the project

Project Duration:

* Daily Commitment: 6–8 hours
Compensation:
* Training period: 1–3 days (qualification required to proceed)
* Paid hourly based on actual working time post-qualification
