We are proactively seeking exceptional design talent for potential future opportunities with AKQA. This is not a current open position, but rather a talent identification effort for an upcoming 3-month project, with the possibility of extension.

As a Designer working on projects with our Interactive team, you would collaborate closely with creative and technical disciplines to craft considered and elegant customer experiences for interactive platforms. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, an impeccable design aesthetic, a demonstrated understanding of visual storytelling within the interactive landscape, and exceptional attention to detail.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS (For Future Consideration)
- Must reside in Mexico and be able to attend orientation in Mexico City
- Possess business-level English proficiency
- Proficiency in Sketch and Photoshop
- Proven design experience at an interactive agency or digital design studio, demonstrated through a compelling portfolio showcasing strategic, conceptual, and creative thinking
- Ability to create original designs aligned with project goals, creative direction, templates, and standards
- Collaborative spirit, working effectively with Art Directors, Designers, and project teams
- Skill in preparing optimized files and presentation materials for creative reviews
- Ability to articulate design rationale clearly and persuasively
- Technical understanding to ensure designs work within given limitations and files are prepared with all necessary supporting information
- Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing deliverables, ensuring flawless layout, imagery, and typography
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS (Desired)
- Sketch and Photoshop expertise, including organized file management for design iteration and web production
- Proficiency in formal design elements: typography, layout, balance, hierarchy, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment and deliver high-quality design under tight deadlines. Diligence, flexibility, resourcefulness, independence, and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Clear and effective communication skills (written and verbal) with creative, project management, and development teams
- Ability to create simple prototypes to convey preferred states, motion, and behaviors for interactive concepts
- Understanding of front-end web and mobile development (HTML, CSS, iOS, etc.)
- Experience supporting story-driven campaigns across multiple media platforms
- Ability to distill complex requirements into clear, elegant, and focused messaging
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant interactive experience
