Freelance Consultant – Operational Excellence (Oil & Gas)

This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-impact operational excellence improvements within the Oil & Gas sector.
As a freelance consultant, you will work directly within client operations in Indonesia, supporting performance improvement on rigs and helping embed sustainable operational practices in complex, safety-critical environments.

You will contribute to high-impact engagements, working directly with client teams on operational sites to improve performance, strengthen operational discipline, and embed practical, sustainable improvements.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the delivery of operational excellence programmes across Oil & Gas operations

• Work on-site on rigs and operational facilities to identify performance improvement opportunities

• Analyse operational processes, performance metrics, and efficiency gaps

• Facilitate workshops, observations, and engagement with frontline teams and leadership

• Support implementation of practical solutions to improve productivity, reliability, and safety

• Work closely with client stakeholders to embed sustainable operational practices

• Contribute to measurable improvements in operational performance and efficiency

You bring strong analytical thinking, a proactive mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in challenging operational environments. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders, solving complex problems, and contributing to meaningful outcomes.

You are an experienced operational excellence consultant with a background in Oil & Gas, able to operate independently in field-based environments and deliver impact from day one. You are either an established freelancer or available for contract-based assignments.

Experience

• Experience within a consulting environment delivering operational excellence or performance improvement projects

• Proven experience working within the Oil & Gas industry, ideally in field-based or rig environments

• Experience supporting operational performance, productivity, or efficiency improvement initiatives

• Experience engaging with both frontline teams and leadership stakeholders

Capabilities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively in complex, safety-critical operational environments

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability

• Ability to translate analysis into practical, implementable improvements

Languages

• Fluency in English (mandatory requirement)

• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia (mandatory requirement)

Mobility & Availability

• Willingness to work on-site on rigs and operational facilities in Indonesia

• Availability to start immediately or by mid-July

• Flexibility to work on a freelance / contract basis
