Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Development Engineer with experience in real-time embedded systems development to lead requirements, design and development activities of safety-critical airborne systems.
The ideal candidate will be capable of receiving systems requirements and able to guide the development lifecycles to satisfy DO-254 objectives. This individual will provide technical leadership across development activities as well as provide input to certification and verification teams.
This role can be onsite (CT), hybrid, or fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Technically lead end-to-end FPGA development activities for embedded aerospace and defense systems from concept to integration.
- Collaborate across systems, hardware, software, verification, and certification teams.
- Ensure compliance of safety-critical FPGA design in accordance with DO-254 and AC 20-152A objectives by supporting certification audits, reviews and data package development.
- Able to define interfacing between Hardware and FPGA.
- Able to define interfacing between Software and FPGA.
- Define, solve and defend technical decisions to stakeholders while guiding technical implementation; including conducting of formal design reviews.
- Ensure efficient and accurate capturing of device-level requirements.
- Accurate and effective implementation of requirements into conceptual and detailed design.
- Support development efforts in alignment to developed schedules and quality objectives while interfacing with stakeholders to communicate technical status.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering, science, or technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in FPGA, programmable logic, digital hardware, or embedded systems development.
- Strong understanding of:
- Embedded hardware architectures and development processes
- COTS IP selection and associated analyses
- Safety-critical hardware development
- Systems engineering processes
- VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilog or similar hardware design languages
- Python and other equivalent scripting languages
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation skills.
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
- U.S. Citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed.
- Able to travel approximately up to four weeks in a year.

Skills Required
