FPGA Developer (m/f/d)
in Munich
Your tasks with the team:
Design, develop, and simulate FPGA modules, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability
Implement FPGA firmware for in-house hardware designs, following best practices for maintainability and scalability
Contribute to the development of FPGA-based assemblies, including component selection and evaluation, schematic design and review, and definition and validation of layout constraints
Collaborate across disciplines (hardware, software, and system engineering) to integrate and validate assemblies and FPGA configurations
Perform system-level testing, debugging, and optimization of FPGA designs and hardware platforms
Ensure compliance with defined development processes, covering module specification, architecture design, implementation, verification, integration, and review
Create and maintain clear technical documentation for developed modules, interfaces, and test procedures
Support continuous improvement of design methodologies, workflows, and verification strategies
We would be delighted if you bring the following with you:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and programming
Experience with Altera or Xilinx FPGA devices and related tools (Quartus or Vivado)
Proficiency in VHDL
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Experience with simulation tools such as ModelSim (or equivalent)
Solid understanding of FPGA design flows, including synthesis, place & route, timing closure, and debugging
Experience with debugging tools such as logic analyzers (e.g., SignalTap, Chipscope/ILA)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team
Good communication skills and a structured, process-oriented way of working
Fluent English required
