POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a key member in the Finance team in leading our financial planning processes for US Commercial Revenue, including the design and implementation of potential technology tools and process automation options, as well as partnership with Rebate Operations and Government Pricing/Contracting. This position supports Gross to Net Revenue projection, Commercial & Government rebating analysis, Monthly financial review and ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ownership of forecasting models (Net Revenue to Cash Flow) and detailed trade spend for each product, to ensure forecast accuracy.
- Develops gross-to-net assumptions (e.g., for rebates, returns, discounts, chargebacks, CDA etc.) and prepare net revenues projections for the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, latest estimates, and 10-year plan, through close coordination with other departments (such as Rebate Operations, Government Pricing/Contracting, Business Analytics and Channel Operations) and through understanding of forecasting models and techniques.
- Prepares monthly analysis and reporting of P&L and Cash Flow. This includes performance against prior periods and forecast targets as well as prudency in trade spend accruals.
- Partnership with the Global FP&A team to ensure understanding of financials drivers of business for actuals and forecast/plans.
- Provides monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentary for business owners and senior leadership. Also, support the Finance team in working with business owners to manage trade costs, to understand ordering patterns/fluctuations, and to deliver robust forecasting.
- Identifies and communicates any forecast risks and opportunities.
- Supports month-end close (and quarter-end close) activities in partnering with Accounting to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the trade spend accruals (e.g., rebates, returns, discounts, chargebacks, etc.) and net revenues.
- Ensure compliance to Global FP&A and Accounting deadlines, including monthly flash, forecast & plan loads, and management reporting.
- Supports set-up & ensures ongoing compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley control environment to ensure all controls are effective and introduce new controls where necessary.
- Supports quarterly reviews and annual audits by external auditors; and supports internal audits and other compliance reviews.
- Provides ad hoc analysis and support to senior leadership
- Works on special projects, as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance. MBA strongly preferred
Experience:
- 8-12 years of finance experience with increasing scope of responsibility in publicly traded company
- Experience in healthcare / pharmaceutical industry / CPG industry preferred
- “Can-Do” attitude and ability to deliver against tight timelines in a high expectation culture
- Expert level proficiency on Microsoft tools (especially Excel & PowerPoint), with ability to do financial modelling
- Experience in working cross functionally and driving projects to completion within tight timelines
- Understanding of Gross-To-Net in pharmaceutical company, including third party rebates, returns, discounts, chargebacks, coupons, and distributor payments would be a plus.
