We are currently a team of over 400 client facing consultants and 150 Head Office staff at Newton. We are looking for a bright and capable individual to join us in a permanent role based in our Head Office in Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire.

Our FP&A Team is encompassed within the Finance and Commercial Function.

This role will require:

Performance Metrics and Analysis:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive balanced scorecard framework to measure and manage performance across various dimensions, including financial, client impact, growth and culture – and across different levels: Group, company, business unit, market, account.
  • Conduct regular analysis of performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights and recommendations from this analysis to senior leadership.
  • Lead and coordinate the production and distribution of monthly performance packs.

Business Partnering and Communication:

  • Partner with Head Office functions including owning of the overhead budgeting process, working proactively with senior stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting, clear understanding of budget variances, and the consistent application of a value-for-money approach.
  • Construct clear, balanced, and factual narratives about the current level of performance as well as the direction of travel.
  • Work with our internal communications team to ensure regular distribution and understanding of our performance level out into the wider business.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development. This will require being in the office at least 3 days a week.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Team.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to performance management.
  • Play a part in upskilling and educating junior colleagues across the business in adopting a structured thinking approach.

Company BI reports and Data Integrity:

  • Responsible for the Key Business Reports (KBRs), ensuring that they are functioning correctly and are constantly available to stakeholders across the whole company.
  • Ensuring the integrity of Newton’s data across multiple platforms and databases.

Requirements
  • Newton is a demanding, yet highly rewarding, environment within which to work. To succeed here as part of our exceptional and dynamic group of peers, you will require a positive attitude and high levels of personal drive.
  • Strong team management experience is preferable. We’re looking for someone to act as a role model to our highly capable team – supporting more junior colleagues with their development, and therefore be present in the office at least 3 days a week.
  • You must take pride in the high service level that you and the team provide to stakeholders, while always striving to improve it. You must align this with good communication skills which will allow you to develop important relationships within Newton.
  • You must have a passion for “things being right”, be adaptable, and have a genuine interest and understanding in IT systems and associated data accuracy and completeness.
  • You must be articulate and able to deliver messages clearly whilst navigating the nuances that might exist within key points to ensure they land correctly with stakeholders.
  • You will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • You must be highly numerate and possess technical accounting understanding.
  • Strong IT skills are essential, in particular advanced Excel, and some level of competency in Access, SQL, Power Automate and PowerBI – along with a strong curiosity in AI development.

We offer a highly competitive salary (£70,000 - £85,000) and our generous benefits package includes Life Assurance, Income Protection, pension contributions and 29 days holiday (not including bank holidays). We also operate profit share and equity schemes so that our people share in the success of the business. The profit share bonus is based on company performance and typically paid out in March and September.
