At Pair Eyewear, we believe in placing our people at the center of everything we do. We are dedicated to fostering a joyful and dynamic workplace, providing our employees with an environment where they can thrive and make a meaningful impact.

We're looking for an FP&A Manager to partner with our manufacturing and operations leaders. You'll be the finance team's expert on costs and capex — from bill of materials and supplier pricing through freight, duties, fulfillment, and everything else that sits between net revenue and gross margin. You'll partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, and Accounting to build cost visibility at the SKU level, drive margin forecasting accuracy, and surface opportunities to improve unit economics as we scale. This is a high-ownership role on a lean team: you'll build models, own recurring deliverables, and present insights directly to finance leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Own all COGS related forecasting and budgeting across all channels (DTC ecommerce and wholesale), including manufacturing standard costs, such as labor, capex, consumables, as well as purchase price variance, freight-in, duties/tariffs, fulfilment, freight-out, and inventory-related reserves

  • Build and maintain SKU-level and BOM-level cost models across a high-SKU catalog; partner with Supply Chain on cost rollups for new product launches and reorders

  • Analyze gross margin and unit economic performance monthly: bridge actuals vs. forecast, decompose variances (mix, cost, freight, promotions), and present drivers to finance leadership

  • Partner with Operations on fulfillment and outbound freight cost analysis, including cost-per-order and cost-per-shipment trends by channel and geography

  • Support inventory planning finance: purchase commitments, cash impact of inventory buys, E&O reserve analysis, and inventory turns

  • Model tariff, duty, and supplier pricing scenarios and quantify the impact on landed cost and margin

  • Partner with Accounting during month-end close on COGS accruals, inventory reconciliations, and margin reporting accuracy

  • Build and improve reporting infrastructure so margin data is timely, trusted, and decision-ready

  • Present findings to the leadership team to ensure strategic alignment across the business

Who You Are:

  • An analytical problem solver who enjoys digging into data to uncover insights and improve business performance

  • Strong ownership mentality with a desire to build scalable processes and improve how finance supports the business

  • Naturally collaborative, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, and Accounting

  • Comfortable translating complex financial analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders at all levels

  • Able to navigate ambiguity, make thoughtful assumptions, and continuously refine models as new information becomes available

  • Exceptional attention to detail without losing sight of the broader business strategy

  • Curious and proactive, always looking for opportunities to improve margins, reporting, and operational efficiency

  • Equally comfortable building models from scratch, owning recurring deliverables, and presenting findings to leadership

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment

Need to Have:

  • 5–7 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2–3 years focused on COGS, manufacturing finance, supply chain finance

  • Consumer goods experience strongly preferred — ideally at a startup or high-growth brand with both DTC/ecommerce and wholesale channels

  • Hands-on experience with BOM-based costing and high-SKU inventory environments

  • Strong understanding of landed cost components: consumables, tooling, labor, inbound freight, duties/tariffs, 3PL fulfillment, outbound freight

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills; ERP experience (NetSuite a plus) and BI tools (Looker a plus)

  • Comfort working with imperfect data — able to build a defensible answer, document assumptions, and improve it over time

  • Clear communicator who can distill SKU-level detail into executive-ready insights

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience in eyewear, accessories, apparel, or other customizable consumer products

  • Experience working at a high-growth consumer brand, particularly one with both DTC/ecommerce and wholesale channels

  • Exposure to overseas manufacturing partners and global supply chains

  • Experience supporting a business through rapid growth and operational scale

Some Benefits and Perks of Working At Pair:
  • Health, vision and dental insurance

  • Generous vacation policies

  • Competitive salaries with equity opportunities

  • Retirement savings plan options

  • Free eyewear (plus discounts for family and friends)
