About Neon
Many large companies make billions each year by monetizing Americans’ personal data. At Neon, we’re finally cutting consumers in on the deal. Neon allows our users to make hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars per year by selling their anonymized data.
We just raised a pre-seed from Upfront Ventures and are hiring our first founding mobile engineer to work alongside our founder in NYC.
About the role
As our first technical hire, you will be instrumental in building and shaping our mobile app from the ground up. You’ll be hands-on and fundamental in defining the future of the company and product.
You’ll be working on…
- Building the app. You’ll lead development of intuitive iOS and Android apps, creating a frictionless experience.
- Shipping fast. Take the app from prototype to production-ready software robust enough to scale to potentially millions of users.
- Learning from users. Incorporate user feedback to continuously make the product better.
You have…

- Significant experience with React Native
- Knowledge of Java, Kotlin, and/or Swift is a plus
- 2-5+ years of mobile dev experience, shipping 0-1 products across Android and iOS
- A commitment to building fast, stable software that delights users. You sweat the details.
- Comfort with ambiguity. You’re a highly proactive problem-solver.
- Ownership mentality. You’re a self-starter who doesn’t wait to be told what to do—you just do it.
- Some knowledge of deep learning is helpful, but not required.
