We're building the missing data layer in financial markets: physical risk.
Physical risk — drought, heatwaves, flooding, wildfire — impacts more than half of global GDP and costs companies hundreds of billions of dollars per year.
But markets can't price it. The data that exists is vague: climate "scores" and 2050 scenarios no investor can actually rely on.
We're already working with 3 of the world's top 10 asset managers (over $30 trillion AUM) to solve this problem.
Kepler turns events in the physical world into a number investors trust — asset-level, dollar-denominated, point-in-time Earnings-at-Risk, built to sit next to a Bloomberg feed on an investor's desk.
The product is live and the pilots are running — inside some of the largest asset managers, private markets firms, and hedge funds in the world. What doesn't exist yet is the person who owns making those deployments succeed, and converting that success into contracts.
That's what this role will tackle. You'll be our founding GTM hire — the first commercial person besides the CEO. Everyone else at Kepler builds the product; the two of us turn it into revenue.
What you'll own
The deployments. Every live trial and pilot: onboarding, adoption, feedback loops, and the discipline of never letting a customer team go quiet.
The conversion case. The evidence, the ROI story, and the internal-champion case that turns a successful trial into a signed contract, all the way through enterprise procurement.
Pricing & packaging. Built from what real negotiations teach us, not from theory.
The playbook. Codify what works so the GTM team we build next ramps on your foundation. If you want to build and run that team, this is where that starts.
Exactly how each of these looks is still being written. You'll have a real hand in writing it.
What we're looking for
You've owned enterprise data or analytics evaluations end-to-end with institutional buyers — onboarding, usage, evidence, close — and can walk us through one, verb by verb.
You know the institutional-investor world — asset managers, private markets, hedge funds — well enough to be credible in the first meeting.
You build business cases buyers can defend internally. In this category, acting on new data feels like career risk to the buyer; your job is making it safe.
You're happy being one of two commercial people in a deeply technical team, working next to scientists without pretending to be one.
High agency: you find the problem and fix it without being asked.
And you're someone we'll want to build alongside for thousands of hours.
Nice to have (genuinely optional — you don't need all, or any)
Carried a quota, or closed enterprise deals end-to-end.
Sold at or into a financial-data or alt-data vendor (Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI, S&P orbit — or the startups chasing them).
Sell-side or buy-side background.
Early-stage startup experience.
We'd rather hire someone very smart and very curious who can grow into the domain than someone who ticks every box.
What you get
$140K–$170K base + performance bonus tied to pilot conversions + 0.4–0.8% founding-level equity.
Health-insurance reimbursement (QSEHRA) and a real commitment to grow benefits at every raise and milestone.
An awesome office space to work from in San Francisco
Direct ownership of revenue at a company whose work lands on the desks of the largest institutions in the world.
Our values
Curiosity. Pragmatism. Transparency.

What We Do
Kepler Labs develops transparent, AI-powered physical-risk intelligence for institutional investors. Its platform identifies facilities, maps revenue exposure, and models climate and nature hazards—including heat, flooding, wildfire, wind, and water stress—at asset level. The company converts complex physical-world events into defensible, dollar-denominated financial metrics such as earnings-at-risk, helping asset managers evaluate resilience, conduct diligence, and incorporate climate risk into investment decisions.
