About the Role
For our three first hires, we’re looking for world-class generalist engineers who can ship great product experiences fast while laying the foundations for a platform that will scale to large and complex enterprises in the future. Our initial team will consist of two product engineers and one infrastructure engineer.
What you’ll do as a product engineer:
- Build foundational new features for the Meridian platform. Examples include:
- Highly configurable data storage and views
- Data version control systems
- LLM-backed agentic and continuous AI auditing features
- Analytics and reporting functionality
- Integrations with other manufacturing systems
- Third-party UIs for Suppliers, Buyers, and Auditors
- Design and scope features working directly with customers and the founders.
- Contribute to high-level architectural decisions and design scalable and efficient systems.
- Work directly with customers—including traveling onsite every few months—to ensure the product is meeting their needs.
What you’ll bring
- 2+ years of full-stack software development experience
- Strong product taste and sense of what great UI/UX looks like
- Strong CS fundamentals and experience with web development (HTML/JS/CSS)
- Experience leading or owning new features end-to-end in an environment of high product ambiguity
- Experience refining product direction in collaboration with customers and coworkers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have:
- Proficiency in Typescript/React/Node.js and REST/GraphQL APIs
- Experience with Postgres and/or Supabase
- Experience with enterprise data security and auth systems
Why join Meridian
- You’re excited about the problem. Our customers are manufacturing never-before-seen technologies, onshoring supply chains, and doing so on incredibly tight timelines. Getting the chance to work with them is a privilege, and we’re very excited to help them accomplish their wild missions.
- You want to work in person. We’re building in-person in NYC. We believe an in-person environment is ideal for early-stage product development, and that connecting with coworkers live is the best way to create and grow team culture.
- You want to build a great product. We believe building great things with great people can be one of life’s most fulfilling experiences. We go the extra mile to make everything we deliver is crisp and well-executed down to its core, and we aim to build a cohesive product that can be relied upon for years—even decades—to come.
- High ownership. Every engineer at Meridian will be owning large swaths of functionality. You should be excited to ship, own, and scale a huge chunk of a new platform as part of a small but mighty team.
Why not to join Meridian:
- You want predictability. We’ll be growing fast and changing directions continually in response to market feedback, especially in the first few years. We may shift our focus, scrap features, or sprint to build new things frequently. If this makes you uncomfortable, we’re not a great fit.
- You mainly want to work on generative AI features. We will definitely be using technologies like LLMs to solve problems for our customers, but only if it meaningfully improves specific outcomes for them. If you have a strong desire to work primarily in generative AI, Meridian may not be the best fit.
Compensation
- Competitive salaries and above-market equity for early employees.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Flexible PTO. We’re building this together, and we want you to take the time you need to recharge and come to work energized every day.

What We Do
Meridian’s mission is to accelerate the next generation of companies building in the physical world across aerospace, defense, automotive, and more.
We automate the administrative work of quality and compliance to help our customers go to market faster, scale their production, and increase their pace of innovation.
Reusable rockets, air taxis, autonomous robots, next-gen EV batteries—all these technologies are moving out of R&D and are on the cusp of entering high-scale production. But before companies building these technologies can scale, they have to achieve compliance with industry quality standards such as AS9100 (aerospace), IATF (automotive), ISO-9001 (general manufacturing), and more.
Today, compliance is notoriously difficult to achieve because it affects *every* aspect of how a business operates. A typical timeframe for initial compliance and certification is 18-24 months. Meridian’s initial mission is to reduce this to 3-6 months, dramatically shortening our customers’ time-to-market in highly regulated and complex industries.
To accomplish this, we’re developing a next-generation compliance & quality platform. Our product helps our customers establish processes to achieve ongoing compliance with quality standards, then evolve their quality operations as they scale.
After achieving success in this initial market segment, Meridian will expand quickly to additional industries (automotive, medical devices, pharmaceuticals) and compliance challenges (statutory, regulatory, flow-down). We’ll leverage the platform we’ve built to move upmarket and solve problems for larger-scale manufacturers, including venture-backed and more traditional enterprises.
