Tower Research Ventures is incubating a company that leverages modern AI to bring efficiency to the Commercial P&C Insurance brokerage space. Led by a Head of Product and advisory board that have contributed to building some of the largest software companies in the space, the incubation’s mission is to empower insurance brokers with state of the art technology to serve their clients.
Role overview
As the Founding Engineer, you will be at the helm of the technology arm of the company. This will include shaping the technical vision for the business, architecting scalable infrastructure, and supporting a growing team. As a key component of the early team, there will be meaningful opportunities to participate in the business’ value creation.
Responsibilities
- Interfacing with product leadership to translate product requirements into systems/architecture decisions
- Designing, implementing, and deploying machine learning models (especially large language models) in production
- Managing a technical product roadmap, including low level specifications of an initial Minimum Viable Product, and continuous iterations
- Ensuring reliability and efficiency of product deployments
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in full stack engineering
- Experience or interest working with generative ML operations (prompt engineering, prompt caching, RAG, fine-tuning, etc).
- Experience developing B2B software products from the ground up, with full stack exposure
- Experience working in early stage companies
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Engineering management experience a plus
- Familiarity with Insurance (or adjacent Fintech areas) not required
Anticipated annual base salary range of $175,000 - $250,000, additional compensation in the form of meaningful equity in the business.
