Arvor Insurance, an incubation of Tower Research Ventures, leverages modern AI to bring efficiency to the Commercial P&C Insurance brokerage space. Led by a Head of Product and advisory board that have contributed to building some of the largest technology companies in the space, the incubation’s mission is to empower insurance brokers with state of the art technology and enable them to better serve their clients.
Role overview
As a Founding Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the technology arm of the incubated company. This will include shaping the technical vision for the business, architecting maintainable infrastructure, and supporting a growing team. As a key component of the early team, there will be meaningful opportunities to participate in the business’ value creation.
Responsibilities
- Interfacing with product leadership to translate product requirements into systems/architecture decisions
- Evaluating, implementing, and deploying AI, especially large language models, in production
- Managing a technical product roadmap, including low level specifications of an initial Minimum Viable Product, and continuous iterations
- Ensuring reliability and efficiency of product deployments
- Evaluating technology vendors for feasibility and quality
- Serve as a thought partner for product roadmap and strategy, including spending time with users to gather input and feedback
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in full stack engineering roles, or an equivalent combination of front end and back end experience
- Experience or interest working with generative ML operations (prompt engineering, prompt caching, RAG, fine-tuning, etc).
- Experience developing B2B software products from the ground up, with full stack exposure
- Experience working in early stage companies
- Strong programming skills in python and/or TypeScript
- Engineering management experience helpful but not required
- Familiarity with Insurance (or adjacent Fintech areas) helpful but not required
Anticipated annual base salary range of $175,000 - $250,000, additional compensation in the form of meaningful equity in the business.
