About the Role

We're hiring a Founding Data Analyst to join our FinOps team and build the data foundation that powers Counsel's growth. This is an early-stage, high-impact founding role spanning data wrangling and pipeline development, defining and tracking core operating metrics, and improving reporting and operational workflows across the business.

You'll work directly with our SVP, Finance & Operations and collaborate across Commercial/GTM, Finance, Clinical Ops, and Operations. Instead of owning a small slice of the business, you'll gain broad exposure and take on increasing responsibility as you help build and improve the systems that keep the company running and scaling. This role will have executive level cross functional partnership and requires the ability to connect dots across stakeholders in various organizations.

What you'll do
  • Build and maintain the data foundation that will power the entire company.

  • Support the data needs of stakeholders across every function at the company. This will range from product metrics, commercial / client reporting, internal financial and operating metrics.

  • Build the Operating Scorecard and management dashboards so the entire team can have visibility on business performance and one source of truth.

  • Partner with Analytics Engineer to validate pipelines and metric definitions.

  • Turn messy datasets into answers people can act on.

  • Build and adopt AI-powered tools and workflows that make FinOps faster and efficient.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (CS, statistics, applied math, or similar), with meaningful programming experience

  • 3-5 years in a data, analytics, or finance/ops role

  • Strong SQL, and Python or a similar language to be dangerous

  • Comfort with data that's messy and real, the kind you dig into instead of flagging as someone else's problem. An inherent desire to be a truth seeker

  • Executive presence to represent senior leaders in cross functional discussions

  • Genuinely curious about AI tools, and quick to find ways they can cut manual work out of your own workflow

Bonus points for
  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, or BigQuery

  • Experience in healthcare or healthtech

  • A track record of ramping quickly into new tools, since many of ours are still being built

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be at the forefront and contribute to groundbreaking, AI-driven healthcare experiences, directly interface with execs at the world's leading tech & healthcare orgs

  • Growth: Significant opportunities for broad ownership and professional development within our rapidly scaling startup

  • Compensation: Competitive salary + equity

  • Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare, vision + dental, 401K, Unlimited PTO, Parental Leave

-----------------------------------------------------

Our Values
  • Patients come first.
We are clinicians 1st, technologists 2nd. We act with patient trust/safety at the center of every decision.

  • Innovate with optimism.
We are optimistic as we build the future of care delivery from first principles. Challenge the status quo when needed, no sacred cows.

  • Right answer wins.
Debate openly and pick the strongest path. We optimize for the company, not functions. We win and lose as a team.

  • Simplicity over complexity.
We choose clear, elegant solutions and avoid adding complexity that does not serve patients or the team.

  • Do fewer things, well.
We focus, and hold ourselves to the highest bar and pursue excellence in those areas.

Counsel Health Compensation & Benefits Highlights

The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about Counsel Health and has not been reviewed or approved by Counsel Health.

  • Fair & Transparent Compensation Pay is considered partially transparent as several current listings publish salary bands for roles like physicians and engineers, suggesting market‑aligned ranges for an early‑stage startup. These posted bands provide directional insight even if not all functions display ranges.
  • Healthcare Strength Benefits are described as comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage across multiple postings. This breadth aligns with common expectations for venture‑backed startups.
  • Leave & Time Off Breadth Roles commonly cite unlimited PTO, with several postings also calling out parental leave. This indicates a wide time‑off offering on paper for many positions.
