We are seeking an experienced Forward Deployed Migration Architect to work closely with customers to shape and lead enterprise cloud migration and modernisation programs across a broad range of industries. Embedded with customer executives, architects, engineers and delivery teams, you will turn strategic intent into executable migration decisions, roadmaps and delivery momentum. You will lead from assessment and planning through migration execution, transition and benefits realisation, remaining close to delivery so that issues are resolved quickly and plans adapt to real customer constraints.

This role is responsible for defining migration strategies, leading customer engagement, aligning stakeholders and driving successful migration outcomes across application and infrastructure domains. Working closely with customer executives, architects, engineers and delivery teams, you will define & lead programs from assessment and planning through migration execution, transition and benefits realisation.

The role is cloud agnostic in its decision-making approach, but the immediate delivery focus will be Microsoft Azure. You will help customers make informed transformation decisions based on business, technical and operational requirements, while using Azure capabilities and migration pathways to convert those decisions into practical outcomes.

What you will do

  • Lead customer discussions on cloud migration, modernisation and transformation strategy, beginning with priority business problems and translating them into practical decisions across application and infrastructure estates.
  • Develop migration strategies, roadmaps and wave-based delivery plans, then stay engaged with delivery teams to test assumptions, adjust sequencing and maintain momentum as customer needs and constraints become clearer.
  • Lead architects, engineers, security teams, application owners, operations teams and project stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Work alongside architects and engineers during migration execution to remove blockers, resolve cross-domain decisions and ensure delivery remains aligned with customer strategy and outcomes.
  • Support business cases, proposals, estimates and statements of work.

What you will bring

  • Significant experience leading enterprise cloud strategy, migration, transformation or modernisation programs while working closely with customer teams from early discovery through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of both application and infrastructure environments and the dependencies between them.
  • Experience developing migration strategies, roadmaps and wave-based migration plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust quickly, operate effectively in ambiguous environments and connect business, technical and executive audiences around practical decisions.
  • Experience leading complex large-scale programs involving multiple workstreams, suppliers and delivery teams.
  • Commercial awareness including planning, estimating, business cases and benefits realisation.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and leadership skills with a pragmatic, outcome-focused approach.

Desirable experience

  • Azure, AWS or Google Cloud migration and transformation programs.
  • Application modernisation and cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Enterprise architecture, consulting or technology strategy experience.
  • Data centre exit, infrastructure transformation or operating model change programs.
  • Regulated industry, enterprise or government transformation environments.
  • Presales, advisory, proposal or major bid support experience.
  • FinOps principles and practices.

Qualifications and certifications

A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Project Management or a related discipline is desirable. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.

The following certifications are advantageous:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise migration and transformation programs will be considered more important than any individual certification.

The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about DXC Technology and has not been reviewed or approved by DXC Technology.

  • Healthcare Strength — Health coverage includes multiple national carrier options and plan types, with HSA eligibility where applicable. Feedback suggests the medical, dental, and vision lineup is broad and comparable to large-firm offerings.
