Our mission is to build the next generation of AI: ubiquitous, interactive intelligence that runs wherever you are. Today, not even the best models can continuously process and reason over a year-long stream of audio, video and text—1B text tokens, 10B audio tokens and 1T video tokens—let alone do this on-device.

We're pioneering the model architectures that will make this possible. Our founding team met as PhDs at the Stanford AI Lab, where we invented State Space Models or SSMs, a new primitive for training efficient, large-scale foundation models. Our team combines deep expertise in model innovation and systems engineering paired with a design-minded product engineering team to build and ship cutting edge models and experiences.

The role

We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to be the technical bridge between our cutting-edge AI technology and our customers. In this role, you'll:

  1. Lead technical qualification calls with prospects and customers, helping them understand how our technology can solve their specific challenges

  2. Own the technical relationship with key customers, becoming their dedicated technical expert and trusted advisor

  3. Drive customer success by providing responsive, thoughtful technical support that helps customers maximize the value of our API

  4. Create custom demos and proof-of-concept implementations that showcase powerful solutions to customer problems

  5. Gather rich customer feedback and synthesize it into actionable insights for our product and engineering teams

  6. Identify patterns in customer needs and develop reusable solutions that accelerate implementation

  7. Help strengthen our self-serve experience by improving documentation, creating tutorials, and building sample applications

This role is perfect for someone who loves being at the intersection of advanced technology and practical customer applications – you'll be the expert who helps customers unlock the full potential of our groundbreaking AI.

What we're looking for

  1. Strong technical background with excellent software engineering skills and the ability to understand complex systems

  2. Exceptional communication abilities with a talent for making complex concepts accessible and compelling

  3. Customer-obsessed mindset and genuine enthusiasm for helping others succeed with technology

  4. Experience conducting technical qualification calls and providing responsive technical support

  5. Ability to quickly grasp customer use cases and architect appropriate solutions using our API

  6. Talent for building convincing demonstrations that showcase the value of complex technology

  7. Skill in gathering, synthesizing, and communicating customer feedback to product and engineering teams

  8. Proficiency with our tech stack with experience in Python, Typescript and building distributed systems.

  9. 3-5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, ideally at an early-stage startup (bonus)
