Mission
Help Groq and our partners build fast with Groq. Forward Deployed AI Engineers at Groq work directly with customers building Gen AI strategy and implementing Groq-based applications. On a daily basis, you will work with customers to build end-to-end workflows, test and deploy GenAI systems, evaluate models, and solve real world problems. You will have ample opportunity to contribute learnings from the field back to the Groq Engineering team. You will serve as a bridge between Groq Engineering and our customers bringing GenAU-based systems to life.
Outcomes
Forward Deployed AI Engineers’ responsibilities look similar to those of a hands-on AI startup CTO: you’ll work in small teams to own delivery of high stakes projects with clients. A day’s work may include building LLM workflows on a large scale, interacting with customers to understand their needs and set their AI strategy, but the most impact will be driven by implementing solutions into the real world of our partner's organizations. These might include:
- Deploy Groq and optimize AI inference workloads.
- Troubleshoot model performance and assist in benchmarking.
- Provide hands-on engineering support for AI/ML teams.
- Serve as a bridge between customers and Groq’s engineering teams.
You have/are
- Engineering mindset, focused on delivering production solutions with Gen AI.
- Solving real business problems, not academic benchmarks.
- Ability to collaborate efficiently in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
- Comfort working in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives and direct iteration with users.
Requirements
- Past experience building solutions with LLMs and a deep understanding of the Gen AI landscape.
- Strong foundation in GenAI/Machine Learning basics (Evaluation, Training, Problem Decomposition).
- Strong engineering background. Preferred fields include but are not limited to Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, and Machine Learning.
- Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++.
- Ability and interest in traveling up to 50%, as needed to client sites, but flexible based on personal preferences.

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $143,600 to $289,100, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks.
Location: Some roles may require being located near or on our primary sites, as indicated in the job description.
