The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design, build and ship AI-driven software from early prototype to production while working side by side with public-sector partners in their own environments. The position combines applied AI engineering with production systems work and calls for clear explanations of technical topics to non-technical audiences.
What you'll do
- Design and deliver applications powered by large language models, including autonomous agents that use tools and retrieve information from data sources.
- Work on-site with partner teams to understand their needs and help them adopt the solutions successfully.
- Create the data preparation and model assessment workflows that feed ongoing model improvement.
- Maintain the infrastructure used to serve, test and release models.
- Convert raw data, models and internal tooling into dependable operational capabilities.
- Take responsibility for a system from initial scoping through launch and ongoing hardening, including security and uptime.
- Explain technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and represent the company professionally.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 1 to 4 years of production software engineering experience.
- Strong Python skills and a history of delivering systems end to end.
- Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications and autonomous agent systems.
- Solid engineering fundamentals and real depth of technical understanding.
- Experience owning data workflows and the supporting machine learning infrastructure.
- Excellent verbal communication and a collaborative, low-ego working style.
- Ability to work in the office five days a week and to be located in, or relocate quickly to, the area.
- US citizenship is required for some positions on the team.
- Availability to start as soon as possible.

- Active US security clearance.
- Experience on government, defense or national security programs.
- Background with healthcare data or fraud analytics.
- Experience tuning and evaluating models on custom datasets.
- Exposure to reinforcement learning or simulated training environments.
