Formula 1 - Advanced EMT - Austin, TX

Code 4 Emergency Services provides professional medical coverage for some of the most exciting events in Texas. If you want to put your advanced skills to work in environments others only get to attend, we want you on our team.

We are looking for Advanced EMTs with availability to work Formula 1 at Circuit of the Americas, October 23-25, 2026. Advanced EMTs hired for Formula 1 will be eligible to work other events.

About the role

As an AEMT with Code 4, you will provide on-site emergency medical care at special events across Central Texas, including concerts, festivals, motorsports, sporting events, and large-scale public gatherings. Your scope allows you to bridge the gap between BLS and full ALS care, and in the event environment, that capability matters.

This is a PRN/part-time position. Pick up events that fit your schedule, whether Code 4 is your primary source of income or a way to stay sharp on your days off. Either way, you will be working alongside experienced providers in settings that challenge and reward you.

What you will do

• Provide AEMT-level patient assessment and treatment at assigned events, including IV/IO access and limited pharmacological interventions per Texas scope
• Staff fixed medical posts, roving units, and mobile response positions depending on event configuration
• Operate as part of a coordinated medical team under the direction of a Paramedic In-Charge or Medical Director
• Complete accurate patient care reports and documentation for each incident
• Support EMT-Basic personnel with clinical guidance when appropriate
• Assist with setup, staging, and breakdown of event medical stations as needed

• Current Texas DSHS Advanced EMT certification in good standing

• Ability to pass a background check and any required pre-employment screenings

• Must maintain all required certifications, licenses, and credentials throughout employment

• Prior special event or mass gathering EMS experience

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

• Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification

• ICS/NIMS familiarity (ICS 100, 200, 700, 800)

• Experience with electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) systems and/or inventory management platforms

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles if required

• Ability to work extended shifts (8–12+ hours) in dynamic, high-demand environments

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing as needed

• Ability to work in loud, high-activity environments (e.g., motorsports events, large crowds)

• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods with exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.)

• Ability to work extended and variable hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as needed

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods

• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English

• Ability to effectively communicate via two-way radio and other communication devices

• Ability to think critically and make rapid, sound decisions in high-stress and time-sensitive situations

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established protocols and standard operating procedures
