What is the opportunity?
In this role The Foreign Exchange Analyst will monitor currency trends, analyze rate fluctuations, perform daily updating of rates from Bloomberg and Internal rate setting models into core banking systems, and lead the development and maintenance of bots in the automation of processes. The individual will also have responsibility to compile insights on the portfolio and FX performance from various sources (including RATs, Treasury, Finance, Product Analytics and external data). In this role you will also support projects and initiatives to enhance the FX product profitability and efficiency of processes through collaboration with various partners as well as review of FX risk and compliance controls collaborating with traders and the treasury team.
What will you do?
- Daily update of foreign exchange rates into core banking systems and verification of rates for accuracy
- Continuous review processes and identify opportunities to automate and improve efficiencies using tools such as excel macros and BOTs etc.
- Design and update financial reports to present information in the most useful manner for different analytical needs and audiences
- Perform data analysis, monitoring and reporting on product performance KPIs, client data, profitability, currency trends and rates
- Support activities to ensure reconciliation of reporting across various teams such as GRM, P&T, Finance etc.
- Support review of FX risk and compliance controls through monitoring and execution of any action plans from IAS Audit, Regulatory and / or management findings related to risk and operational deficiencies.
- Support projects, initiatives and campaigns aimed at increasing profitability, efficiency, competitiveness and mitigate product risk through collaboration with key stakeholders
- Collaborate with other product managers to analyze data and support initiatives as required where the FX product is embedded, including but not limited to cards and deposits.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree in Business Management, Economics or Accounting or equivalent education/training
- Ability to understand the bigger picture and build steps to solve complex problems
- Business Communication skills to effectively share ideas and capture the attention of your audience through different tools and tactics
- Ability to tackle complex business problems through strategy development, challenge processes and enhance business performance
- Enhanced business and financial knowledge in order to make better decisions.
- Work well with others to achieve mutual goals.
Nice to Have
- Post graduate degree in Business will be an asset or similar designation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
