Job Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • A high level of analytical ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and AutoCAD software.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily on a daily basis. JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Direct accountability for fixtures, equipment evaluation, hand tools, and time studies as required for the manufacture of assemblies and end products of the current or future program.
  • Assist EHS Coordinator with ergonomics programs and assists with the plant Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Initiates recommendations for equipment and ensures that all fixtures allow for acceptable time and process standards.
  • Work with Quality to ensure that in-process checks are being accomplished using fixtures provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide engineering assistance to the design and manufacture of fixtures, machines and tools for the manufacture of seat assembles. This will include the review of ergonomics, mistake proofing, workload, ease of assembly of components or end products. Also work closely with safety and health to ensure that equipment or fixtures meet all ergonomic and safety standards.
  • Assists in preparing Failure Mode Affects Analysis Reports. Facilitates compliance with all OSHA regulations relating to the plant.
  • Follows-up on issue resolution and audits. Recommends modifications, improvements, or changes necessary to maintain compliance with laws.
  • Participates in investigations of accidents and injuries.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of safety and health programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions.
  • Examines plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to ascertain if all safety precautions have been included.
  • Conducts plant and area surveys to determine safe limits of exposure to materials or conditions such as temperatures, noise, dusts, fumes, vapors, gases, solvents and radiation.
  • Other duties as assigned
