About the role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Personal Injuries team in North Queensland. In this role, you will provide administrative support, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining a professional environment across our Townsville, Cairns and Darwin locations. You will be based in Townsville servicing our other offices remotely.

What you will be doing

  • First point of contact for client enquiries, professional, prompt, and helpful.  
  • Keep clients in the loop with clear, timely updates.  
  • Support client files from start to finish. 
  • Prepare correspondence, legal documents and court materials.  
  • Manage diaries, appointments and meetings.  
  • Process mail and correspondence.  
  • Handle client billing and related admin.  
  • Support the legal team with general administrative tasks. 

About you 

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant is desirable, but not essential, perhaps you have been in a similar support or administrative role.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues. 
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. 
  • A trustworthy, professional approach to handling confidential client information.  
  • A genuine learning mindset, you’re eager to expand your knowledge and skillset.  
  • Comfort with legal technology and AI tools, or enthusiasm to build proficiency quickly.  
  • An interest in commercial awareness, understanding how matters run efficiently for clients.  
  • A proactive approach to process improvement, you’re someone who spots better ways of doing things and isn't afraid to suggest them.
