Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First Line Flightline Operations Manager (Level K) to join our787 team within Boeing South Carolina Delivery Center Operations in North Charleston, South Carolina on variable shift.
You will lead & manage a Flightline operations team that ensures air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness. This includes overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for customer delivery.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness
  • Interfaces with flight crews, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, coaches, leads, develops and motivates employees
  • Possesses a mindset of safety, quality, continuous improvement & teamwork; Influences the team to exhibit Boeing Values and Behaviors

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:
To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or equivalent military experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading production system and/or process improvements (i.e. Lean, fab production system, improve job practices, techniques and standards)
  • Willingness to work any shift based on needs of the operation
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Possess an A&P or Repairman Certificate or minimum 18 months of practical, hands-on maintenance experience to qualify for an FAA Repairman Certificate in the type of maintenance to be performed
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal or informal role
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with airline customers
  • 3+ years of flight line operations experience & functional test knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience with any of the following: avionics, troubleshooting capabilities, release, ticket experience, manufacturing, and/or structures
  • 3+ years of proficiency using CMES and Velocity software (or similar industry software)
  • 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
  • Bachelor's degree or higher

Shift:
This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $112,200 - $151,800

Skills Required
