As a Flight Test Engineer supporting Maneuver Dominance (MD) you will support a fast paced flight test program directly supporting the development and inovation of new and game changing capabilities. The mission is to revolutionize the DoD capabilites at a pace never seen before. As part of this team you will travel to Anduril and customer dedicated test events and sites. This will include several things from adding mission autonomy to existing platforms, design-build-integrate adapters to install new payloads, assisting planning for future test events, or a combination of all. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- As a Test and Evaluation (T&E) engineer, working with our test team, you will be responsible for contributing to test planning, execution and reporting
- Support the collection and perform initial test data analysis for the system under test.
- Work closely with Engineering to discuss test results, to include collected data and observations.
- Support execution of flight testing at private and government owned test ranges
- System level T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on conducting ground and flight testing, and ensuring established processes are implemented and identifying improvement/development.
- Act as test engineer during ground and flight operations. Test duties include system level T&E of hardware and software.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- 2-5 years experience working in integrated system test.
- Ability to travel as required for test planning and execution.
- Previous working knowledge of the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations thereof.
- Must have a understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
- Strong computer and documentation experience.
- Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Aerospace/Mechanical engineering degree
- Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD)
- Experience as a test conductor, test lead
- Prior experience with small UAS
- Comfortable with Linux environments and Python at the novice level
- Ability to immediately obtain a U.S. Secret-Level or greater Security Clearance.
US Salary Range
$90,000—$115,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
