FIX & Trading API Engineer - Full Time W2
Salary Range:-
$180,000 - $250,000 (Base)

Position Summary:-
As a FIX & Trading API Engineer at Prometheum Inc, you will be a pivotal part of our development team, focusing on the advancement and optimization of our trading platforms. Your deep expertise in FIX trading APIs and other trading APIs, and message queue/bus systems will be crucial in driving our trading efficiency and strengthening our position in the market. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will apply state-of-the-art technologies to keep us at the forefront of the trading industry.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Lead the integration and management of FIX API, FIX certification and management as well as ongoing development of our proprietary trading APIs
- Work with our implementation of message queue and message bus systems optimizing for high throughput and low latency.
- Collaborate closely with the trading team to convert complex requirements into reliable and scalable technical solutions.
- Conduct thorough work with testing and QA to maintain system integrity and performance, preparing for and managing peak trading volumes.
- Proactively tackle system performance issues, devising and implementing solutions to enhance trading efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills and Experience:-
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in FIX-based trading systems development, with specific accomplishments in building FIX APIs.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages with demonstrable skills in one of Rust, Typescript, C++ or C#, with a focus on efficacy and appropriate pattern use.
- Expert knowledge of message queue and message bus technologies, e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, and Redis Streams.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading environment.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable additional skills:-
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in financial markets, trading strategies, and quantitative analysis.
- Previous exposure to a high-frequency trading (HFT) environment.
