Position Overview
We’re seeking a Social Media Marketing Intern to help amplify First Flight’s brand, grow our online presence, and share the story of how drones are transforming education and agriculture.
This role is perfect for someone who is creative, organized, and excited to learn. You’ll work closely with our leadership team to create content, support marketing initiatives, and engage with schools, students, and community partners.
This internship requires on-site availability, and candidates must be located in the Detroit area.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Branding
- Develop photo, video, and written content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Capture behind-the-scenes footage during demos, school programs, and drone flights.
- Assist in maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual style across all channels.
- Help design graphics, templates, and short-form video content.
Social Media Management
- Schedule and publish posts across platforms.
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and track analytics.
- Brainstorm new content ideas aligned with drone education, STEM, and First Flight initiatives.
- Support growth across student, educator, and tech audiences.
Marketing & Outreach Support
- Assist with email newsletters, blog posts, and highlight stories.
- Support campaigns related to First Flight STEM programs, product launches, and demo events.
- Assist with partnerships and outreach to schools, youth programs, and community organizations.
- Participate in events to support media capture and content creation.
Qualifications
- Must be currently living in the Detroit, MI area.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, PR, or a related field.
- Strong creative writing and storytelling skills.
- Comfortable with photography, video, and basic editing (mobile editing tools are fine).
- Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Bonus: Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or social media analytics.
- Organized, proactive, and eager to work in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Interest in drones, STEM education, or technology is a plus (not required).
