The role
Raydar is recruiting for this opportunity through the Paraform network. The position is with our client. Develop embedded firmware for motor control and real-time robotic systems, working directly with hardware teams on integration and testing.
What you'll do
- Build microcontroller and embedded Linux firmware for motor control.
- Develop and debug low-level communications.
- Implement real-time behavior using embedded operating systems.
- Bring up new circuit boards and integrate electromechanical hardware.
- Connect firmware with higher-level robot communication frameworks.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 3 to 10 years of relevant firmware or embedded systems experience.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, robotics, or mechatronics.
- Strong C and C++ skills for embedded systems.
- BLDC motor control experience, including field-oriented control and PWM.
- Real-time operating system experience and hands-on CAN, RS-485, SPI, or UART knowledge.
- Comfort debugging firmware in a hardware laboratory.
Bonus points
- Experience bringing up circuit boards or working at a robotics startup.
- ROS or DDS integration experience.

- Base salary: USD 100,000 to 300,000 per year.

Location and work model
- Onsite in San Mateo, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Visa support is described for O-1, H-1B, and TN categories; eligibility is reviewed during hiring.
