JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Financial Reporting Senior Accountant plays a critical role on POET’s Finance Services team. You are responsible for preparing the consolidated financial reporting and corporate reporting, and for providing accurate and timely financial information to both internal and external parties. The information you provide will support data-driven decisions made by internal stakeholders and executive management. Utilizing your financial acumen, you will develop and monitor KPIs, ensure internal control compliance, and focus on process development and improvement. No task is too big or too small. You are positive and understand the importance of a cohesive and collaborative team.
This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities include:
Drive the preparation of value-add financial reporting, analysis, planning, and strategy
Prepare multi-level consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations
Build and maintain relationships and support POET business partners
Review and analyze monthly forecasted consolidated financial statements, the consolidated annual budget, and related reporting packages
Lead involvement in external audits, which includes preparing, reviewing, and communicating with the audit team
Prepare and review accounting entries, monthly reporting, forecasting, and analyses for various functional areas, including shared services
Support shared service departments and other business units to manage and understand their financials
Oversee internal control analysis and compliance for your areas of responsibility
Work in an honest and ethical manner; maintain confidentiality on all business-related matters
Maintain a team environment and champion POET in the community

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the accounting field, 5+ years preferred
CPA (or CPA eligible) with financial auditing or public accounting experience
Experience with financial statement consolidations
Extensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Experience working in various financial reporting software
Knowledge of computerized accounting system
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
