The Boeing Global Technology (BGT) International Finance team is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Financial Planning Analyst to provide cost management and financial operations support to international research centers and other global R&D project portfolios.
BGT International Finance primarily supports Global Technology, a fast-paced and dynamic organization that includes Boeing's nine international R&D centers and a unique portfolio of projects focused on key investments in markets critical to Boeing's future.
The Boeing Global International Finance team is comprised of professionals located in four countries who collectively support customers across continents. Candidates must demonstrate strong cultural awareness and the ability to work across cultural boundaries and time zones. This role may occasionally require work outside normal business hours to support global teammates. Occasional travel may also be required.
This role is based in Bristol, UK with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Position Responsibilities:
The analyst will support the Boeing Global Technology activities in the United Kingdom and Ireland and may also work closely with analysts supporting BGT Europe and other international centers to help enhance processes and tools. This will enable decision support to be delivered in a more efficient, timely, and consistent manner in line with the needs of a dynamic business environment.
- Support daily, monthly and quarterly finance operations for Global Technology research and development and engineering centers in various countries
- Coordinate with local regional finance centers and U.S. teams to verify accounting cost transfers
- Prepare R&D portfolio reporting for local and U.S. stakeholders
- Support Overhead and project management costing
- Support forecasting, opportunities and risks reporting, and headcount reporting
- Provide support for Long Range Business Plan and rate development
- Support cost match capture, execution, reporting, and audits
- Collect cost match documentation in coordination with Boeing HR Services, Accounting, Finance, Contracts, Engineering, and funding bodies in country
- Liaise with teams collecting labour costs for publicly funded projects
- Coordinate with Contracts on price estimates for proposals
- Liaise with Global HR Services to obtain information required for audits
- Liaise with Payroll to obtain supporting documentation for audits
- Coordinate with Contracts and submit justification costs to the relevant administrations when due using all information collected on a monthly basis
- Lead substantiation of project audits
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting operations, functions, and processes
- The selected candidate must demonstrate a strong desire to acquire and retain new knowledge, particularly in relation to international finance processes, including accounting, financial planning, and compliance.
- Experience interacting with internal and external audit teams and supporting audit substantiation
- Experience leading activities across more than one discipline within Administrative and Finance Services
- Detailed understanding of internal financial control standards
- Ability to articulate and document key accounting processes and controls clearly and concisely
- Strong interpersonal skills, including training and coaching
- Intermediate or advance Excel knowledge
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity as the foundation of the Company's success, reputation, and sustainable growth
- ACCA or CIMA certification
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting
- Experience with local government external funding project reporting and auditing
- Proven ability or desire to work across cultures
- Experience leading business transformation processes, new system implementations, integrations, and process improvements
- Knowledge of Boeing Finance data repositories is preferred, including EAS, IR&D Planner, COGNOS, CaRMS, CMART, BIBS, and ECMI.
- Strong knowledge of finance processes and strategies
- Experience working in global teams and across cultural boundaries
- Willingness to learn Boeing financial systems
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite to support analytical and communication needs
- Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are an asset
