Summary/Objective

Reporting to a Partner and the Director of Wealth Management, the Wealth Advisor is responsible for managing a group book of client relationships, delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services. This role is ideal for a credentialed professional (CFP® or CPA) with a solid foundation in financial planning who is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships, contribute to business development, and mentor junior team members. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Manage and serve as the primary advisor for an assigned book of client households, delivering comprehensive financial planning and ongoing wealth management strategies aligned with clients' goals and objectives

  1. Conduct client reviews, analyze financial data, and develop recommendations related to investment management, retirement planning, tax efficiency, risk management, and estate planning

  1. Build and strengthen client relationships by collaborating with clients' professional advisors, identifying opportunities for additional planning services, and supporting business development and referral initiatives

  1. Ensure all client recommendations, communications, and documentation adhere to fiduciary obligations, regulatory requirements, and firm policies and procedures

  1. Contribute to the development of the advisory team by mentoring Associate Wealth Advisors, sharing technical expertise, and staying current on industry trends, market conditions, and planning strategies

Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Serve as primary advisor for an assigned book of client households, managing the full relationship lifecycle

  2. Develop, present, and implement comprehensive financial plans covering retirement, investment, tax, risk management, and estate planning strategies

  3. Conduct regular client review meetings to assess progress toward financial goals and adjust plans as needed

  4. Analyze client financial data and provide recommendations on asset allocation, tax efficiency, and risk mitigation

  5. Collaborate with clients’ professionals (CPA, Estate Attorney, etc.) to deliver coordinated, holistic advice

  6. Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand services (referrals, additional assets, family members)

  7. Ensure all client interactions and recommendations comply with fiduciary standards and firm/regulatory requirements

  8. Mentor and provide guidance to Associate Wealth Advisors

  9. Stay current on tax law changes, market conditions, and planning strategies relevant to client portfolios

  10. Participate in business development activities, including client seminars, referral partner relationships, and community engagement

  11. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, recommendations, and plan updates

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field required

  • CFP® certification or active CPA license required

  • Minimum 5 years of client facing experience in financial planning or wealth management

  • Series 65 (or 66) license

  • Demonstrated knowledge of investment management, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning concepts

  • Knowledge of tax concepts and business consulting services, combined with strong client relationship skills and the ability to deliver holistic support and guidance to a diverse client base.

  • Strong proficiency in financial planning software (eMoney, MoneyGuidePro) and portfolio management tools

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and relationship management skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships with a high level of service and accuracy

  • Sound judgment and ability to work independently while collaborating within a team structure

Preferred

  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, or dental/medical professionals (industry-specific niche experience a plus)

  • Additional designations (CPA, ChFC®, CIMA®, CWPA®, AEP®, CAP®) complementary to CFP®

  • Track record of client retention and organic growth within a book of business

Travel

Minimal travel required to see select clients and attend CWA’s Annual Meeting.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some remote work and flexibility in hours is allowed based on management’s approval.

Job Compensation & Benefits

Our compensation and benefit structure is comprised of many factors, including but not limited the size of our Firm, our financial position, the industry, business objectives, market salary information, benchmark pay levels and practices against the respective peer group (to ensure equal pay for equal work, with allowable pay differences based on factors not prohibited by law), and unique circumstances of the Firm that are subject to change.

Compensation

Base salary minimum: $140,000.00 - Maximum: $150,000.00 USD

Commission structure tied to assets under management (AUM), providing ongoing earning potential that grows as client assets and relationships are developed over time.
