Job Overview:
We are looking to add a Finance Operations Associate to our team in our Chicago office (hybrid). The Finance Operations Associate serves as a day-to-day contact for internal teams and clients on all account needs – specific to the Army National Guard project. This position works closely with the Army Operations Team, as well as, working in unison with the integrated internal teams, specific to the Army National Guard to ensure work is delivered at the highest quality and within deadline. Every day, we push the ideas, push each other, and push ourselves to deliver work that matters.
As the financial subject matter expert, you help guide your team and clients to success. You’re a big-picture thinker and believe the team is stronger than the individual. For you, there’s no project too small or too big!
Responsibilities:
- Provide program management and serve as the key day to day contact Army National Guard Operations team as well as internal agency partners
- Oversee project monthly financial reporting, forecasting and reconciliations
- Build strong relationships with counterparts and inter-agency teams
- Establish a deep understanding of the client’s business and competitive environment
- Manage executional aspects of budgets, timetables and workflow
- Craft clear and concise written correspondence internally/externally
- Develop and exhibit problem-solving abilities and provide solid, efficient solutions. Anticipate potential problems and barriers and actively seek out internal agency resources to solve possible roadblocks
- Reconciliation of post-travel packets, account hours and other direct expenses
- Manage & provide updates for Army National Guard client vendor costs and spend
- Maintain vendor and billing files
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
- 2-4 years of financial client services experience, preferably agency
- Strong organizational and written communication skills
- Approachable demeanor with excellent communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and multitask with an explicit eye for detail
- Able to plan and carry out responsibilities on-time with minimal follow-up
- Experience in analysis of financial reports
- Familiarity with examining/synthesizing research and applying it to projects
- Comfortable with creating presentations and delivering a presentation both internally and externally
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, D365 and Adobe Acrobat
