The Index Operations is currently organised in 4 units defined as Index Surveillance and Monitoring, Index Review, Corporate Actions and Index Data Research across 6 locations (Frankfurt, Zug, Prague, New York, Hong-Kong and Delhi) and is responsible for day-to-day activities related to the maintenance of indices under STOXX mandates.
Index Operations activities cover indices such as EURO STOXX 50, STOXX Europe 50, STOXX Europe 600, as well as DAX indices, the Bulgarian Exchange Indices, and Customised Indices. The Index Operations teams are also involved in strategic projects where expertise in index implementation and maintenance is required.
ResponsibilitiesBeing part of a dynamic team located in 3 different locations and responsible for STOXX and DAX index families
Focusing on the periodic review of index compositions (i.e. application of index rules within certain time intervals as defined in the index methodology; becoming familiar with a wide variety of methodologies)
Using your creativity and industry expertise to participate in new, interesting and challenging projects (such as the definition and integration of new index concepts into the regular periodic review processes; coordination of the automation processes with the IT department; performing a large number of non-routine activities in the team)
Working closely with multiple stakeholders across the organisation on topics concerning methodology enhancements, regulations and client queries
Driving process improvements to ensure consistent data quality applicable to equity indices at the review
Effectively communicating details of the index review in response to client-directed questions and requests
Representing a key growth area for the company, and you are expected to be a significant contributor and team player with the ability to work independently
Hold a master’s degree in finance, economics, econometrics or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a financial environment (Index Business, Portfolio Business, Asset managers, Product Development or Structuring) and have an understanding of the Financial Markets environment, its working constraints and philosophy
Strong analytical, conceptual skills and know-how in financial information and financial markets, including an understanding of Corporate Actions' impacts on an Index
Be able to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks time-efficiently & autonomously in parallel, and work on tight deadlines
Be able to work and learn autonomously with a minimum of supervision and training (self-starter/self-learner)
Fluency in English (oral and written)
Be a team player with good communication skills, highly motivated, flexible and solution-oriented
Access and VBA programming skills would be a plus, ideally combined with database knowledge and SQL
Experience and track record in Corporate Actions management, Index Operations, Securities and listed companies Operations (Middle and back office), data analysis/cleansing, data processing rules and techniques, and good knowledge of reference and market data applications such as Refinitiv and Bloomberg would be beneficial
Fluency in a second and/or third European language, such as Spanish, French, Italian or German (oral and written)
