Job Title:Financial Data & Reporting Senior Analyst

Department:Dentistry | Finance

The Financial Data & Reporting Senior Analyst is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for performing complex financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning support activities. This role applies strong financial operations knowledge and a thorough understanding of the college’s academic and clinical operations to produce accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights that support the decision-making, operational efficiency, fiscal stewardship and strategic growth of the college.


The position develops, maintains, and optimizes complex financial reports, scorecards, dashboards and analytical models; conducts in-depth financial analyses; and ensures compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. The Senior Analyst is responsible for highly complex budgeting and forecasting activities totaling more than $70 million across 39 cost centers, including clinical operations, develops and maintains accurate projections, forecasting models and scenario analyses and translates financial data into meaningful insights and recommendations to support planning and decision making.


Working independently on complex assignments, the Senior Analyst evaluates financial and operational trends, identifies risks and opportunities, and provides insights and recommendations to support leadership decision-making. The role exercises sound judgment in prioritizing work, resolving issues, and recommending actions that improve operational effectiveness and financial performance.


In addition, the position supports long-range financial planning activities through data analysis, financial projections, scenario analyses and ,  maintenance of reserve models to ensure adequate capital funding.  The role collaborates with stakeholders across the college and university to support financial and strategic objectives and contributes to departmental initiatives, audits and special projects. The Senior Analyst serves as a resource in financial data, reporting, budgeting and planning processes utilizing tools including Microsoft Excel, Workday, the RAE, Tableau, PI Portal, TAS, and Adaptive Planning.


Required Qualifications

·        Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.

·        4 years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, or strategic financial planning.

·        Demonstrated experience developing complex financial reports, models, forecasts and scenario planning, conducting data analysis, and providing recommendations based on findings.

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both cross-functionally and independently with minimal oversight.

·        Experience using high level Excel functionality, enterprise financial systems and advanced reporting and analytics tools.


Desired Qualifications

·        Master's degree in, Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

·        5 or more years of progressively responsible financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning experience.

·        OSU or other higher education experience, and extensive knowledge and understanding of the OSU FDM structure highly preferred.

·        Experience supporting complex organizations with multiple funding sources and cost centers.

·        Advanced proficiency with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau, Workday reporting, Adaptive Planning, Power BI, or similar platforms.

·        Experience supporting long-range financial forecasting, scenario analyses and financial planning.
