The successful candidate will support the International Finance team and partner on day-to-day activities with Clusters, external service providers, US Finance Team and other internal stakeholders. This role is a central and critical role within the Finance Organization as we embark on the next chapter of the Blueprint Medicines’ story. 

The person will start ASAP as a permanent employee. Reporting into the FP&A Lead, International Finance, the successful candidate should have strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving-skills and be able to drive financial processes effectively across the International Region.


What will you do?

International Technical finance

  • Act as a Finance Business Partner to the different Stakeholders on behalf of the International Finance Team,
  • Participate in the month-end close activities and provide support on local technical finance matters such as the revenue recognition process, Order to Cash, and Local Accruals review process.
  • Actively participate in the financial review processes (US GAAP accounts and Flux analysis); support both International, Clusters, and the Finance Team.
  • Support Global Audit (Local, internal, External, and SOX)
  • Be in charge of some compliance review (USGAAP reporting, Other indirect Taxes, and Reports)
  • Other activities depending on the business needs

 International FP&A

  • Coordinate FP&A activities (budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning) with International and local teams, supporting the central INT team in process design and execution to meet the needs of Local Operating Companies (LOCs).
  • Lead the cluster financial planning review process, including country/International P&L actual vs. budget/forecast analysis, and coordinate INT/local FP&A activities (budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning).
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly sales reviews and reporting.
  • Monitor and align budget-owners' available funds.
  • Work on some process improvement initiatives
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations as needed.

 International BI tools (Power BI & AI)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial models (results simulations, what-if scenarios) to support dynamic forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making processes, including scenario planning.
  • Drive the specifications elaboration process, and coordinate user training and budget owner support.
  • Be creative and innovative: support BI development (Power BI & AI), including brainstorming on new project, specifications, testing, maintenance, data loads, user training, support, and access (shared responsibility).
  • Implement process improvements based on identified priorities.

 

What minimum qualifications do we require?

  • Master's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 3-5 years’ of experience in Finance/Controlling/FP&A/Audit, with ideally experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical device industry

  • Strong organizational, innovative, creative, multitasking and problem-solving skills. Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion is required
  • Well-organized, flexible and ability to handle different priorities at a time – result driven and strategic thinker,
  • Strong finance background + good knowledge of internal controls.
  • Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to be strategic and hands-on in a rapid growth, fast-paced global organization where agility was demanded, fresh solutions were embraced, and a growth mindset was pervasive.
  • Pragmatic, detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment. Ability to meet deadlines, curious with a can-do attitude. Attention to detail and quality focused
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Microsoft Excel is a must, proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Office and Oracle will be an advantage.
  • English a must, another EU language would be a plus
