Key Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of monthly and quarterly management financial reporting  packages and related schedules.
  • Own timely and accurate monthly government contract reimbursement invoicing,  including complete supporting documentation and organized contract files.
  • Review accounts receivable aging for government contract invoices and convey  concerns about collectibility to the Controller.
  • Prepare and update recurring forecast schedules and models for salaries, benefits,  revenue, expenses, grant activity, and cash flow; support scenario analysis and  comparison of actual, budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
  • Identify emerging financial risks, opportunities, trends, and items requiring  management follow-up.
  • Review financial coding and data for accuracy, help resolve inconsistencies, and  support budget holders in using approved budgets and coding guidance.
  • Use Sage Intacct, Sage Intacct Planning, Excel, and other tools to prepare reports  and analysis; maintain reporting structures and support testing of system and  process improvements.
  • Partner with budget holders and other departments to review financial information,  answer questions, and translate financial results into clear, useful information.
  • Maintain organized recurring workpapers, schedules, and procedures and support  Finance team special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, business  administration, economics, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–4 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, grants  management, or related finance roles; nonprofit finance experience preferred.
  • Very strong Excel skills, including using formulas, pivot tables, formatting, and data  review with ease.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Sage Intacct Planning, or similar accounting and  budgeting systems preferred.
  • Ability to work with financial reports, general ledger accounts, budgets, and  transaction-level detail.
  • Ability to independently research discrepancies and bring issues to resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills, judgment, organization, communication, attention to detail,  and follow-through, with the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
  • Experience with government contracts, reimbursement billing, grants, or a  government-funded human services organization strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide responsive service to staff with varying  levels of financial experience.
  • Strong interest in nonprofit finance and UTEC’s mission-driven work.
