To help drive this journey, we are looking for a Financial Analyst III, who will report to our Sr. Finance Director.
This individual will deliver accurate, timely, and relevant financial analysis and insights accompanied with commentary and recommendations where applicable to help the organization make profitable, fact based decisions. As an integral part of the brand financial reporting team, this role will oversee financial close and reporting for our Merrell Canada business and support our executive leadership group. The ideal candidate will have a strength in coordinating across the organization including other commercial teams and corporate finance to ensure alignment along with the ability to drive action through a solution-oriented approach.

  • Report, review and analyze consolidated financial statements, and prepare period and quarterly business review documents to provide insights that drive action and support the decision making process.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to prepare budget and forecast information such as, revenue, margin and variance analysis, SG&A and working capital, including supporting schedules.
  • Analyze shipments, backlog and order for trends, units, revenue and margin and compares to Plan/forecast.
  • Oversee brand financial close process, including analysis to substantiate adjustments sent to corporate for period and quarter close.
  • Perform financial analysis of all related Balance Sheet related accounts and report adjustments to corporate finance.
  • Provide in-depth analysis on product pricing to the account base and assist in implementation of Customer Specific pricing as well Closeout and all other pricing.
  • Play a key role in the preparation of the annual plan, financial forecasting, long-range plans, actual results and other supporting analysis.
  • Manage the maintenance and continuous improvement of financial reports and tools, including troubleshooting of issues and applying solutions. Identify opportunities to leverage technology or systems.
  • Identify potential deviations from plan/forecast, quantify financial impact and provide recommendations for contingencies.
  • Work with commercial business leads on revenue assumptions and gross margin expectations.
  • Actively participate in ongoing projects independently and as a member of cross-functional teams, search for and realize efficiencies.
  • Respond to inquiries from the controller, internal and external auditors, and FP&A team regarding financial results and special requests.
  • Perform various variance analyses and statistical analyses related to the brand’s accounting areas.
  • Performs duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting CPA and/or MBA preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years’ work experience in accounting or finance working with consolidations, financial reporting, and financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Brings a strong team mentality approach to their work and comfortable driving and influencing change.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and distill complex data and provide analysis, projections, and conclusions in a meaningful simple format.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency with strong organizational focus, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Actively embraces a growth mindset with an openness to feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills the ability to interact at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Suite of products.

Working Conditions:

Wolverine Worldwide has a flexible, hybrid work schedule, with three days in office and two days remote.
