ELS is hiring for the position of Financial Analyst - Financial Planning in Chicago, Illinois.

What you'll do:

The Financial Analyst develops financial plans, reports, analyses, models and business decisions to support the maximization of property value. 

 

Your job will include:

  • Analyze financial operations for a portfolio of regional properties. 

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the operations team and act as a liaison between the team and property managers. 

  • Prepare financial analyses and written explanations of budget recommendations. 

  • Construct quarterly re-forecasts based on trend analysis, field requests from the operations team and recommend forecast adjustments. 

  • Run variance analyses to identify key trends and conduct ad hoc reporting to model financial scenarios and interpret findings.  

  • Perform project-based initiatives to improve process efficiencies and support other departments. 

 

Experience & skills you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting. 

  • Two or more years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in property management and/or real estate. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn additional systems quickly. 

  • Meticulous attention to detail. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on company needs. 

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, drive projects to completion and meet deadlines. 

  • Strong communications and analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 

  • Willingness and ability to travel.

Estimated compensation for this position in the states of BC, CA, CO, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, VT and WA is:

Annual Salary: $65,000.00 - $73,000.00

The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. A salary offer will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to the base pay and our benefits, some positions are eligible for bonuses, sales commissions, or incentive pay.
