Houlihan Lokey’s Secondary Solutions Group provides strategic advice and execution services to private equity sponsors and institutional investors navigating the fast-growing market for private equity secondary transactions, which reached $225B+ in volume in 2025. The group specializes in both GP-led transactions - such as continuation vehicles, single- and multi-asset restructurings, and tender offers - as well as LP portfolio sales and fund interest transfers. Members of the Secondaries Solutions Group work with a wide variety of private equity sponsors and institutional investors - across both industry and strategy – and work in tandem with Houlihan Lokey’s industry coverage, M&A and financial restructuring teams.
Candidates will work alongside senior and mid-level investment banking professionals on live deals across a variety of transaction types, as well as pre-launch deal preparation and origination efforts. This role will be based in Houlihan Lokey’s forthcoming West Palm Beach office.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Analyst, you will be expected to demonstrate strength across the following areas:
- Financial Modelling & Valuation: Build and maintain complex "bottom-up" three-statement and LBO models, fund-level waterfalls (GP/LP distributions), alongside performing detailed valuation analyses
- Deal Execution: Support all aspects of transaction execution from origination through to closing, including conducting due diligence on portfolio companies and GP managers
- Marketing Materials: Prepare high-quality client materials, including Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, and pitch books for new business development
- Client Interaction: Engage directly with GP clients, assist in managing deal processes, and act as a point of contact in buyer discussions
- Market Analysis: Track and analyse trends in private equity and the secondaries market, including evolving deal structures
Qualifications & Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's and/or master's degree with a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
- Technical Skills: Strong financial acumen and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Analytical Ability: Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and influence stakeholders
- Work Ethic: Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
- Research Skills: Strong qualitative and quantitative research capabilities, with the ability to assess assumptions, limitations, and key drivers
- Team Orientation: Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Compensation and Benefits
