The Role
Own and manage client relationships for a fee-based financial planning firm serving retirees. Responsibilities include preparing for client meetings, portfolio rebalancing, identifying tax-loss harvesting opportunities, maintaining CRM records, following up on paperwork, supporting annuity reviews, re-engaging prospects, and participating in client events and workshops. The role requires an active Series 65 license and offers a path toward lead advisor responsibilities.
Summary Generated by Built In

Most advisor jobs reward you for chasing new assets. This one rewards you for taking care of people. If you want to do real financial planning work, build lasting client relationships, and grow inside an established firm without having to build a book from scratch, keep reading.

Strong Tower Associates is a fee-based financial planning firm serving primarily retirees in Central Pennsylvania. We're a small, tight-knit team. We care deeply about our clients and about doing the job right. We're hiring an Associate Advisor to own a portion of our client relationships and grow with us long-term.

What You'll Do

You'll take primary ownership of a defined set of client relationships, handling their planning, communication, and service needs. You'll also support our lead advisor across the full client book. Day to day, that looks like:

  • Managing ongoing client relationships, including quarterly meeting prep and follow-up
  • Handling portfolio rebalancing and identifying tax-loss harvesting opportunities
  • Keeping CRM records current with clear notes and action items
  • Following up on transfers, paperwork, and pending client items
  • Assisting with annuity reviews and prospect re-engagement
  • Participating in client events and educational workshops

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • Series 65 license (active)
  • Experience in a client-facing financial services role
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and digital planning tools
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Nice to have:

  • 3+ years in a financial planning or advisory support role
  • Experience with financial planning software (eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or similar)
  • Background working with retirees or pre-retirees

You don't need to bring a book of business. There's no cold calling. We're looking for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in serving clients well and wants to grow inside a firm that shares their values.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $56,000–$90,000 depending on experience, plus bonus potential
  • $250/month health insurance stipend
  • 24 days PTO per year plus all federal holidays
  • Primary office: State College (with regular travel to Lewisburg satellite office)
  • Flexible hours, roughly 8 AM–4 PM, with occasional evening events

If your experience warrants a conversation outside that range, we're open to it.

Where This Can Go

This isn't a support role with a ceiling. As you build trust with clients and demonstrate your planning instincts, there's a clear path toward a lead advisor role. We're a small firm, which means the right person will have real influence on how we grow.

How to Apply

Submit your application with your resume. A short note about why this role interests you is welcome, but not required. We review applications as they come in and will reach out within a few business days if we'd like to connect.
