Job Description

The Ameriprise Personal Wealth Group (APWG) is a team of 200 advisors supporting clients virtually. Through training, licensing support, mentorship, and hands-on client experience, you'll develop the skills needed to build trusted client relationships and help individuals make confident financial decisions.
Whether your background is in sales, business development, hospitality, athletics, customer service, military service, or another client-facing role, we're looking for individuals who are motivated by helping people and creating meaningful outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare for and obtain key financial licenses
  • Build consultative sales and relationship-management skills
  • Engage directly with clients and prospective clients
  • Learn how to identify client needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Work toward performance goals in a client-focused, growth-oriented environment
  • Receive coaching, mentorship, and professional development support
  • Complete ongoing training to master products, tools, and client service

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to thrive in a goal-oriented environment
  • Commitment to obtaining required licenses

  • Bachelor's degree

Training & Development

Ameriprise provides support to obtain:

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE)
  • Series 7
  • Series 66
  • Life Insurance Licenses

You'll receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and development as you progress through a structured advisor career path.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $55,000 starting salary while completing licensing requirements
  • Opportunity to earn $57,000-$95,000+ within the first three years through salary and performance-based incentives

The Career Path

Upon obtaining your required licenses, you'll progress into the Client Support Associate role, where you'll gain deeper exposure to financial planning, client relationship management and advisor development.

As a Client Support Associate, you'll:

  • Shadow client meetings
  • Learn how financial plans are developed
  • Expand your understanding of financial products and solutions
  • Develop stronger client-facing and advisory skills through mentorship and coaching

From there, you'll have the opportunity to progress into a Financial Advisor role, where you'll lead client relationships, develop financial strategies and help individuals make confident financial decisions. As you grow your expertise and client impact, you'll continue to unlock new career and earning opportunities throughout your advisor journey.

In-Office Collaboration

We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $55,000/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
