We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to manage and support financial operations in Singapore and Australia. This role involves overseeing accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with both Singapore and Australian accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, cross-border financial regulation knowledge, and experience in financial reporting for the Asia-Pacific region.

As a Financial Accountant, your main responsibilities will be: 

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Singapore and Australia’s accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies across both regions.
  • Support both statutory audits and group audits by preparing necessary documentation, coordinating with auditors, and addressing audit queries. 
  • Collaborate with local tax advisors and auditors to manage compliance requirements, including tax filings and statutory audits.

Accounting & Reconciliation:

  • Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Oversee account payable and receivable processes for clients in both Singapore and Australia.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records, ensuring timely data entry and reconciliation.
  • Work closely with the central finance team in the UK to ensure a smooth and accurate month-end close process and submit required reports to align with group reporting timelines and standards. 

Billing and Collections:

  • Perform monthly billing for clients in both Singapore and Australia, ensuring invoices are accurate and sent in a timely manner.
  • Manage the collections process, following up on overdue accounts and working with clients to resolve billing issues. 
  • Track and report on accounts receivable aging to ensure timely payments. 

Ad Hoc Tasks & Projects:

  • Participate in ad hoc financial tasks and special projects as needed, providing additional support to the finance team or addressing unique business requirements. 

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the finance team, external auditors, and cross-functional departments to align financial processes across regions.
  • Support internal stakeholders in understanding financial data relevant to Singapore and Australian markets.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CA qualification preferred.

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to the Asia-Pacific market. Payroll knowledge is an advantage.
  • Advertising/Marketing industry experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations in both Singapore and Australia.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Workday, Adaptive) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, Multitask with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams, cultures and regions.
  • Ability to manage ad hoc tasks and projects, showing flexibility and initiative.
