Position Information
We are seeking a Financial Accountant I who under direction, performs entry-level professional accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor First Call ticketing system and respond timely to all ticket requests. Expected response time between 24-48 hours. 25%
- Research unidentified ACH payments for Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Service. 25%
- Provide excellent customer service for all units within Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Service and Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. 5%
- Establish all new customer setup requests in FAMIS for Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Extension Service and Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. This process requires personal log-in to the IRS website to verify vendor existence through the TIN Matching program. 15%
- Monitor official Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Service receipt book distribution and use. Confirm compliance with System policies and record retention guidelines. 5%
- Prepare and process monthly payroll and insurance entries in FAMIS for Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory.10%
- Prepare and verify correct coding and authorized signatures on all deduct from expense (DFE) and deduct from income (DFI) requests for Texas Medical Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. 5%
- Monitor and fulfil all deposit-related supply requests for Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Service units including but not limited to, deposit bags, deposit books, stamps. 5%
- Performs other duties as assigned. 5%
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Accounting experience in a business office.
