We are looking for a strong and detail oriented Tax leader to manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance. The Tax Director will take holistic internal ownership for all tax workstreams, closely working with external tax advisers to mature and scale corporate tax governance. The role will report to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities: 

• Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and tax provisions, ensuring adherence to public company Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance requirements
• Performs review of all tax SEC disclosures in both quarterly and annual filings and reviews audit disclosure checklist for tax footnote disclosures
• Liaisons with external auditors on all audit tax matters and drives open tax matters to successful resolution
• Manages the relationship and projects with outside tax advisers on all tax matters, including but not limited to corporate tax, state & local tax, international tax, and M&A tax
• Oversees state and local tax compliance registrations and required filings
• Oversees sales tax compliance matters, including review of product tax codes in Avalara software
• Manages key one-time and ongoing corporate tax projects, including nexus analysis, income apportionment, and transfer pricings
• Assists in the planning, formation, and/or liquidation of legal entities 
• Manages work streams relating to governmental tax examinations and open inquiries from tax agencies
• Reviews agreements and collaborates with business and legal teams to ensure contracts contain accurate and preferential key terms from the corporate tax perspectives
• Serves as a subject matter expert for all matters impacting corporate tax

Experience & Skills: 

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including minimum of 5 years in tax consulting preferred
• CPA required
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and remote environment
• Direct experience with handling tax compliance for public companies required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Able to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong project management skills
