Position Description

The Tax Accounting Manager is an experienced individual contributor that will work with the Tax Director and a team of other experienced Accounting Managers and Senior Accountants to manage the direction and coordination of all company tax matters. 

The Tax Accounting Manager, reporting to the Tax Director is a regular, full-time position and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates preparation of project-level partnership income, sales, and property tax returns.
  • Assists Tax Director in providing support for ASC 740 and Corporate tax compliance.
  • Works closely with accounting, finance, and business development teams to ensure strategic alignment of the tax function with other business units.
  • Assists in tax research and due diligence related to the development and acquisition of commercial and utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Provides initial review of quarterly HLBV model updates.
  • Manages the resolution of IRS and state income tax audit examinations.
  • Coordinates use of outside tax advisors and outside consultants as needed.
  • Manages preparation of information reporting including Forms 1099 and 990.
  • Assists in designing, implementing, and continually improving department procedures to facilitate pro-active identification and resolution of tax issues.
  • Ensures that all tax returns and reports are filed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assists the Tax Director in providing proactive tax guidance and support for corporate and shareholder tax issues.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA (preferred)
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant tax experience.
  • Extensive experience working with Corporate and Partnership tax returns at Federal and State levels
  • Knowledge of GAAP Financial Statement audits and the concepts of ASC 740
  • Sales, Use and Property Tax compliance
  • Experience working with and preparing HLBV models
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Renewable energy experience a plus
  • Strong accounting skills and demonstrated knowledge of tax laws

Location:        Miami, FL

Travel:             Depending on location, some travel will be required
