Primary Objective of Position:

The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the Business Unit Accounting team with a focus on maintaining accurate financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data, maintaining strong accounting records, driving process improvement, and partnering with business and functional areas.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Actively own workstreams in the month-end close process, post certain month-end journal entries, and prepare monthly financial deliverables in accordance with policies for assigned business units
  • Provide accounting decision support and guidance to key stakeholders for assigned business units
  • Perform timely, complete, and accurate reconciliations of financial records and systems within required time frames. Research reconciling differences and errors, and processes correcting journal entries to maintain accurate financial records in a timely manner
  • Review workpapers, journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with policies as assigned
  • Provide day-to-day direction and coaching to staff level associate
  • Ensure integrity of chart of account information across assigned business units
  • Execute key internal controls for assigned areas, ensuring operating effectiveness and validating control design
  • Develop, propose, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
  • Support and execute various projects and processes as requested

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience, including public accounting and/or relevant industry experience with a public company
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting
  • CPA license, active preferred
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical skills


Additional

Travel to other Winnebago locations may be required.
