BigBear.ai is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager. This role is an opportunity to become a key member of the Finance and Accounting team of a publicly-traded, high growth company with a legacy of innovation, clear strategic direction, and strong values. The Financial Reporting Manager will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will be a key member in preparing the Company's consolidated financial statements and disclosures. As a highly valued contributor and member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Financial Reporting Manager will be also responsible for compiling, interpreting, and reporting key financial data, assisting with technical accounting matters, and will be instrumental in designing, implementing and monitoring robust processes and controls over financial reporting. This role will also serve as a liaison between management and the external auditors in the annual audit / quarterly review process. The Financial Reporting Manager must be hands-on leader with technical, tactical and strategic expertise to integrate the accounting requirements and policies of the previous stand-alone companies forming BigBear.ai. The Financial Reporting Manager must be capable of helping design and streamline sound processes and controls to support the high growth targets of the existing businesses as well as new initiatives.

The position can be remote within the continental USA.

What you will do

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages in accordance with U.S. GAAP and other management reporting practices;
  • Execute monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation processes in a timely manner and with high precision and accuracy;
  • Prepare detailed analyses related to the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows and the ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues;
  • Compile data and perform analyses for periodic reports on Forms 10-K/Q;
  • Monitor the chart of accounts and legal entities for any necessary changes and execute those changes once approved;
  • Support the Corporate Controller in the preparation and review of required SEC filings including certain disclosures within the footnotes and MD&A;
  • Execute controls that verify the integrity of systems, processes and data to ensure compliance of all accounting procedures;
  • Identify and execute initiatives to make financial reporting processes more efficient while maintaining a high level of precision and accuracy;
  • Interface with external auditors, and accounting and tax advisors;
  • Partner with the cross-functional business teams to continually drive improvements in all financial metrics, ensuring efficient and effective use of systems while remaining in compliance with regulatory standards such as SOX; and
  • Research, analyze, and draft audit-ready accounting memorandums on various technical accounting and reporting matters, as needed


What you need to have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited university;
  • 5 - 7 years of Accounting experience
    • 2 years of which must be at either a Big 4 accounting firm (preferred) or an accounting role for a public-traded entity
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and with U.S. SEC regulations;
  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability (identify problems and develop/implement solutions);
  • Ability to take ownership and drive projects/issues to completion;
  • Ability to work well in teams; and
  • Motivated/able to grow and develop in organization


What we'd like you to have

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance
  • CPA license
    • CPA license required if no Big 4 or public-traded entity accounting experience
