Payroll Analyst
Overview
This position is responsible for the administration of all weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for entire company. Responsible for the coordination of HR and payroll activities. Conducts research and resolution of HR and payroll issues for all employees. Notifies management of any questionable practices or concerns. Runs, prepares, and distributes weekly reports.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating HR and payroll processes for all service centers. Verifies specific or special items on the payroll preview for accuracy.• Processes off-cycle Special Pay Requests. Follows department policy and ensures compliance with all Federal and State laws for those payments.• Resolves HR and payroll issues by researching problems and suggesting solutions.• Completes daily audits and performs additional employee maintenance for all terminations, address changes, and other miscellaneous changes that are processed in UKG Pro.• Responsible for processing employee payroll deductions according to company policy and ensuring we're in compliance with the deduction laws of all states.• Troubleshoots PTO accrual and balance discrepancies brought to your attention by the service center reps or management.• Communicates deadlines, processing reminders, process changes, and other items requested by management.• Responsible for processing overpayment calculations and letters, as well as for insuring repayment is made and properly cleaned up in the payroll system.• Ensures FLSA compliance in all areas of responsibility. Brings concerns or violation situations to the attention of management.• Maintains relationship with pay card vendor, monitors pay card inventory and orders replenishments when appropriate. Funds special pays, reconciles accounts, and maintains acceptable balance.• Run, prepares, and distributes weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to DHRMs and governmental agencies, including but not limited to audit reports, new hire reporting, BLS reporting, and multi-worksite reporting.• Assists other departments as needed and completes special projects and duties as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field, as well as 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing a multi-state payroll for 3,000 + employees• Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.• Must be computer literate with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.• This job requires the ability to create and interpret spreadsheets and operate general office machines.
